Home Care Services Nelson, GA

Poor Sleep

As people age, their sleep patterns can be disrupted, causing them to wake up multiple times during the night. This can be due to a shift in their internal body clock, stress, or worry. If dementia is a factor, you may need to be vigilant, as sundowning and wandering could occur. Caring for your parents or a loved one requires a clear and rested mind, which is why getting enough sleep is essential for both your well-being and your ability to provide the best care. After all, you don't want to get so burnt out and tired that you take a trip to the hospital. Avoid getting burnt out and exhausted, as it could lead to a trip to the hospital.

Lack of Support

Taking care of aging parents can feel overwhelming and like you're shouldering the entire brunt of responsibility. Moreover, thinking that you're the sole caregiver can be stressful and put unneeded strain on other relationships in your life. It's crucial to understand that caregiving is not a one-person task. Trying to handle it alone can lead to burnout, depression, and other serious health issues. It can also negatively impact the quality of care your parents receive.

No Privacy

Living with your parents can affect both your physical and emotional privacy, especially if one or both need significant amounts of attention. This can lead to feelings of fear and disorientation when you're not around. Similarly, it can be challenging for your parents to maintain their own privacy while you're taking care of them.

Westminster is proud to announce the selection of Nelson Stewart as its new Head of Program for Football. A celebrated coach with a distinguished 26-year teaching and coaching career, Stewart brings an exceptional commitment to player development, a proven track record of success, and a passion for engaging athletes of all ages. His appointment follows a national search and heralds the start of an exciting new chapter for Westminster football.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nelson Stewart as our new Head of Program for Football,” said Shannon Soares, Director of Athletics at Westminster. “Nelson’s leadership presence, ability to develop players through a strong talent pipeline, and tireless work ethic set him apart as a nationally respected leader in high school football. His commitment to mentorship and holistic development has ensured his student-athletes grow as individuals on and off the field, and his strong collegiate relationships and extensive network have provided his student-athletes with access to valuable opportunities. Nelson understands and respects the landscape of high-performing independent schools and has a proven body of work around culture building, competitive success, and development that will allow our program to honor its traditions and accomplishments while aspiring to new heights.”

Stewart’s storied coaching career spans 19 seasons as the Head Coach at his alma mater, Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. Under his leadership, Newman achieved an impressive 162-54 record, with state playoff appearances in all 19 seasons. His teams advanced to the state semifinals and quarterfinals six times each in addition to clinching seven district championships, exemplifying his consistent success and ability to build competitive teams.

Renowned for his talent of mentoring and developing players, Coach Stewart has helped numerous athletes achieve their dreams of competing at the collegiate level. Many of his players have signed with top-tier universities, including Ivy League schools and Power Four programs. Notable athletes coached by Stewart include Texas quarterback Arch Manning, NFL star Odell Beckham Jr., and current Newman senior quarterback Eli Friend (recently signed with Princeton). Stewart’s reputation for excellence extends to his relationships with college coaches nationwide, where he is widely respected for his integrity, insight, and innovative schematic approach. “My family and I are so excited to join the Westminster community. The opportunity to lead such an esteemed program at one of the finest institutions in the country is an honor and a privilege” said Stewart.

Beyond his coaching achievements, Stewart is known for his ability to engage younger students in football and foster a love for the game. For 26 years, he served as a Lower School physical education teacher at Isidore Newman, where his energy and enthusiasm inspired students of all ages. His annual summer football camp consistently attracted upwards of 100 participants, laying the foundation for a strong pipeline of talent. Stewart is also actively involved in the nationally recognized Manning Passing Academy.

A 1995 graduate of Isidore Newman, Stewart played under legendary Head Coach Tony Reginelli, was teammates with Peyton Manning, and served as team captain during his senior year. He continued his playing career at Tulane University, where he was part of the offensive line during Tommy Bowden’s historic 1998 undefeated season.

Nelson and his wife Emily, an art teacher at Trinity in New Orleans, have three children: Taylor (17), and twins, John Nelson and Caroline (14). Stewart takes the reins of Westminster’s football program following Head Coach Gerry Romberg’s retirement announcement after 33 years leading the program. Stewart will officially begin in his role in May, 2025.
