Home Care Services Bolingbroke, GA

Poor Sleep

As people age, their sleep patterns can be disrupted, causing them to wake up multiple times during the night. This can be due to a shift in their internal body clock, stress, or worry. If dementia is a factor, you may need to be vigilant, as sundowning and wandering could occur. Caring for your parents or a loved one requires a clear and rested mind, which is why getting enough sleep is essential for both your well-being and your ability to provide the best care. After all, you don't want to get so burnt out and tired that you take a trip to the hospital. Avoid getting burnt out and exhausted, as it could lead to a trip to the hospital.

Lack of Support

Taking care of aging parents can feel overwhelming and like you're shouldering the entire brunt of responsibility. Moreover, thinking that you're the sole caregiver can be stressful and put unneeded strain on other relationships in your life. It's crucial to understand that caregiving is not a one-person task. Trying to handle it alone can lead to burnout, depression, and other serious health issues. It can also negatively impact the quality of care your parents receive.

No Privacy

Living with your parents can affect both your physical and emotional privacy, especially if one or both need significant amounts of attention. This can lead to feelings of fear and disorientation when you're not around. Similarly, it can be challenging for your parents to maintain their own privacy while you're taking care of them.

A fire that broke out Wednesday morning at Bolingbroke Antiques and Mercantile has temporarily closed the popular shop due to damages to the store.

BOLINGBROKE, Ga. — A fire that broke out Wednesday morning at Bolingbroke Antiques and Mercantile has left the beloved shop temporarily closed.

The fire caused extensive damage to the second floor, with minor water damages on the main floor, but the store's owner remains optimistic about the future.

Michael Bradshaw, who has spent the last two years running the shop, was shocked when he heard about the fire.

"I’m going to the store, and the building's on fire. My first reaction was, 'What’s going on?'" He said.

Bradshaw and his family have worked hard to build the store into a staple of the community, offering a wide variety of home decor, fine China, and records. His son, Max, helps out at the shop after school.

While the fire primarily damaged the second floor, the downstairs area was affected by water damage as firefighters worked to put out the flames.

“When you think of a fire, devastation comes to mind, flames everywhere - it was just a lot of smoke,” Bradshaw said.

Bradshaw expects the main floor to reopen within a month but acknowledges that repairs to the second floor could take longer.

Still, Bradshaw is focused on the positives.

"It gives us a clean slate to work with, and we know it’s going to be better than it was before. We can do everything we wanted to make this place even better,” he added.

Max Bradshaw, though disappointed by the temporary setback, is determined to support his family through the rebuilding process.

“We’ll be back up and running in no time,” he said.

Bradshaw is working with electricians to isolate the upstairs from the downstairs in an effort to restore power as soon as possible. He also mentioned that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

With the community’s support, Bradshaw remains hopeful that the store will return stronger than ever.

Ingram Entities plans to build a 900-acre, nine-building data center along Highway 41 South near Bolingbroke, marking the second data center proposal for the county.

MONROE COUNTY, Ga. — A new data center is being proposed for Monroe County, but this time in a different location.

Ingram Entities has put forward a plan to build a massive 900-acre, nine-building facility along Highway 41 South, near Bolingbroke. This proposed development comes as the second data center for the area, with a similar project already approved for construction near Rumble Road.

The new site would involve rezoning a residential property to commercial use, prompting concern from local residents.

"We just felt like it was such a disservice to all of the residents that live around here," said Terri Campbell, a local resident who has lived in Monroe County for 40 years.

Campbell, who is worried about the impact on the small-town charm of Bolingbroke, called the news of the proposed data center a "gut punch" for the community.

The data center, which would process and distribute large amounts of data, has drawn strong opposition from people like Campbell. She believes that shifting a residential area into commercial use would permanently alter the character of the community.

"That is a more industrial commercial area," Campbell said. "All the waste emissions, the noise, the sound, the employees, the traffic, the sewage, the runoff — none of that works for us."

David Prim, who owns a horse farm and a home across from the proposed site, also expressed concerns about the development.

"It’s going to really change the traffic patterns and everything else," Prim said. "It’ll go from being a community to a city atmosphere or an industrial warehouse atmosphere."

While some residents worry about the environmental and social impact of the proposed data center, Campbell feels that this location, surrounded by homes, is not an ideal spot for such a project. In contrast, she believes the Rumble Road development, which is closer to industrial areas, is better suited for this type of business.

The owner of Ingram Entities declined to comment on the proposal for this story. However, a public hearing regarding the project is scheduled for Monday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Planning and Zoning office on West Main Street in Forsyth.
