Home Care Services Fairburn, GA

Poor Sleep

As people age, their sleep patterns can be disrupted, causing them to wake up multiple times during the night. This can be due to a shift in their internal body clock, stress, or worry. If dementia is a factor, you may need to be vigilant, as sundowning and wandering could occur. Caring for your parents or a loved one requires a clear and rested mind, which is why getting enough sleep is essential for both your well-being and your ability to provide the best care. After all, you don't want to get so burnt out and tired that you take a trip to the hospital. Avoid getting burnt out and exhausted, as it could lead to a trip to the hospital.

Lack of Support

Taking care of aging parents can feel overwhelming and like you're shouldering the entire brunt of responsibility. Moreover, thinking that you're the sole caregiver can be stressful and put unneeded strain on other relationships in your life. It's crucial to understand that caregiving is not a one-person task. Trying to handle it alone can lead to burnout, depression, and other serious health issues. It can also negatively impact the quality of care your parents receive.

No Privacy

Living with your parents can affect both your physical and emotional privacy, especially if one or both need significant amounts of attention. This can lead to feelings of fear and disorientation when you're not around. Similarly, it can be challenging for your parents to maintain their own privacy while you're taking care of them.

The south Fulton County property that’s home to the popular Georgia Renaissance Festival has sold.

A nearly 140-acre property in Fairburn traded hands last month for $3.1 million, according to property records.

It’s not immediately clear if the property sale impacts the festival. Dave Dorrell, general manager of the Georgia Renaissance Festival, declined comment.

The festival, which recreates a 16th century European fair, is now in its 40th year. Tickets are currently on sale for this year's event, which is set for April 12 through June 1.

The property that sold includes the old-timey “Village of Newcastle,” where the festival is held. It spans different stages, food courts and attractions such as a juggling school and joust tournament field.

The property also includes an adjacent parking field and some undeveloped land. It's located off Virlyn B Smith Rd., about 30 minutes south of Downtown Atlanta.

The seller of the land was 6905 Development Co., a venture registered to John Sias.

The buyer was Lancelot Entertainment Georgia Real Estate Holdings LLC, with an address in Dedham, Massachusetts. The venture was organized earlier this year by a lawyer based in Dallas, Texas, according to a filing with the state.

A company called Lancelot Entertainment Investment Co. LLC. recently raised $21.4 million, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. It shares the same address as the buyer of the Fairburn property, according to a filing with the state of Massachusetts.

Jack Sias began the Georgia Renaissance Festival in 1985, according to a 2017 proclamation from the city of Fairburn. At that time, the city said the event was its largest attraction with 200,000 annual visitors.

FAIRBURN, Ga. — A South Fulton County family now has the keys to their brand new Habitat for Humanity home.

It’s the 102nd home that Channel 2 consumer adviser Clark Howard has sponsored.

Right after receiving the keys to his new house, Marquez Hurley told Channel 2, “I feel great, it’s a good feeling. I can’t really explain the feeling but it’s a great feeling knowing that this is my forever home.”

It was a moment that the father of two sons fought hard to achieve through Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.

He put in 255 volunteer hours so he can call the home on Aderhold Street in Fairburn his own.

“It was a journey. It wasn’t a bad journey, it was a good journey ... with doing my classes, on top of my classes, my sweat equity hours,” Hurley said. “Just being able to be a part of building my home made it more special. I was actually able to put hands into my first home.”

It’s his first and forever home.

“You know this is what it’s about right here,” Channel 2′s Clark Howard said. “Family, opportunity, permanence, having a place to raise your kids.”

“It’s an opportunity for this family to not only realize a stable place to raise their family, but to realize a generational wealth opportunity as they have saved and completed a serious, rigorous homebuyer journey to get to today,” Atlanta Habitat for Humanity Chief Development Officer Candice Jordan said.

It was a moment that Marquez knows wouldn’t be possible without the volunteers behind Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.

“They came out Saturday after Saturday, even they showed up on a Thursday during the week, so I just want to say thank you to everyone that was able to help me along the way,” he said.

The house was built over eight weeks.

Marquez also received a starter tool kit as a gift.

A new restaurant that hopes to make customers say “I can’t believe it’s vegan” is coming to Fairburn.

Unbelievegan is under construction now at 8040 Senoia Road. The restaurant will offer dine-in and takeout service, offering vegan eats in a comfortable luxury lounge atmosphere. There will be a bar and indoor and outdoor seating.

The concept is described as “your number one source for a vegan transitional lifestyle bringing you familiar comfort foods that you and your family will enjoy,” featuring cooked-to-order menu items “from different cultures with a plant-based spin.”

Donte’ Beasley is the owner of Unbelievegan, which has been operating as a pop-up the past few years. Menu items include empanadas, crab cake sliders, fried cauliflower, jackfruit curry and more.

“This is going to be an exciting place for all my vegan lovers,” Beasley said in a social media post.

Unbelievegan is expected to open in Fairburn in April 2025. It is located in a commercial space near the Oslo Apartment Homes and the Dylan at Fairburn apartments, just off I-85.

More locations could be in the works in the future.

A more than $42 million loan has been arranged for a new apartment community in Monroe.

CBRE arranged the loan for the construction of The Jax, a 282-unit, garden-style multifamily development.

The Jax will be located at 200 Aycock Avenue. The community will include seven three-story residential buildings with one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans averaging 1,117 square feet. Units will feature luxury finishes with high ceilings, plank flooring, stainless steel appliances and granite countertops in select units.

Community amenities will include a business center, clubhouse, pool, fitness center, volleyball court, picnic area, EV charging stations and a breakfast/coffee concierge.

Blake Cohen and Charlie Clark with CBRE Capital Markets’ Debt & Structured Finance in Atlanta represented the borrowers, a joint venture between Green River Builders and ARC Multifamily Group, an Atlanta-based real estate investment and asset management company.

“We are pleased to have represented Green River and ARC on this financing opportunity,” Cohen, a senior vice president with CBRE, said in a statement. “Between Green River’s development expertise and ARC’s operational capabilities, this is a highly complementary joint venture, and this project is well positioned for success.”

Cohen also noted that The Jax will be the city’s first large-scale apartment project.

The project is located 40 miles east of Downtown Atlanta. It is within the Walton County Public School District.
