Home Care Services Norcross, GA

Poor Sleep

As people age, their sleep patterns can be disrupted, causing them to wake up multiple times during the night. This can be due to a shift in their internal body clock, stress, or worry. If dementia is a factor, you may need to be vigilant, as sundowning and wandering could occur. Caring for your parents or a loved one requires a clear and rested mind, which is why getting enough sleep is essential for both your well-being and your ability to provide the best care. After all, you don't want to get so burnt out and tired that you take a trip to the hospital. Avoid getting burnt out and exhausted, as it could lead to a trip to the hospital.

Lack of Support

Taking care of aging parents can feel overwhelming and like you're shouldering the entire brunt of responsibility. Moreover, thinking that you're the sole caregiver can be stressful and put unneeded strain on other relationships in your life. It's crucial to understand that caregiving is not a one-person task. Trying to handle it alone can lead to burnout, depression, and other serious health issues. It can also negatively impact the quality of care your parents receive.

No Privacy

Living with your parents can affect both your physical and emotional privacy, especially if one or both need significant amounts of attention. This can lead to feelings of fear and disorientation when you're not around. Similarly, it can be challenging for your parents to maintain their own privacy while you're taking care of them.

NORCROSS, GA — The first $2 million winner in Massachusetts' newest lottery game was a Georgia woman, according to lottery officials.

The Norcross woman was given a $25,000,000 Mega Money instant ticket by her father, a gift that resulted in the woman claiming a one-time payment of $1.3 million before taxes, Massachusetts Lottery officials said in a May 28 announcement.

She plans to use her massive prize to buy a house and attend college, lottery officials said.

The winning ticket was bought at a London Street market in East Boston, Massachusetts, lottery officials said. The market will receive a $20,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket, they added.

The $25,000,000 Mega Money game went into play on May 13. It includes three additional prizes of $2 million and three grand prizes of $25,000,000.

Players can win prizes ranging from $100 to $50,000 in the game's second chance drawings, lottery officials said.

In Georgia, recent winners included a $50,000 prize for a Winston resident in Monday's Powerball drawing and a $12,500 prize for a McDonough resident in Supernova 9’s Diggi game on the Georgia Lottery mobile app, according to a news release from lottery officials.

Also, on Monday, two Georgia Five players in Centerville and Columbus scored $10,000 in the game's evening drawing.

Online winning tickets in Georgia have an expiration date of 180 days from the drawing date while instant ticket winners have 90 days from the expired date to claim prizes. Instructions on how to receive prizes are on the Georgia Lottery's website.

Georgia takes 5.75 percent in state taxes and 24 percent in federal taxes for winnings more than $5,000.

"The GLC reports to the IRS and Georgia Department of Revenue the names of winners of prizes above $600. ... Additionally, the GLC is required to check for and deduct any outstanding child support payments for prizes of $2,500 and above and student loans and state taxes for prizes of $5,000 and above, net of wager or ticket cost," lottery officials said on the Georgia Lottery website.

Flexential has completed the acquisition of a data center it has been occupying in Norcross, Ga. Mapletree Industrial Trust sold the asset for $11.8 million, according to Data Centre Dynamics. Flexential’s lease was set to expire in August.

The Norcross facility—the company’s hub for cloud and data protection in Atlanta—encompasses 32,740 square feet and has 1.8 megawatts of power capacity. The property also features a 40,000-square-foot planned expansion.

The data center provides connectivity via a 100-gibabit network scalable to 400 gigabits, access to more than 80 carriers and built-in redundancy. The one-story building is at 2775 Northwoods Parkway within Northwoods Business Center, 22 miles from downtown Atlanta.

The transaction gives Flexential full ownership of its Atlanta metro area data center footprint. The firm’s portfolio also includes one facility in Alpharetta, Ga., and two in Douglasville, Ga.

Flexential picked up Douglasville 2, a 358,000-square-foot facility at 1750 N. River Road, in December. Local real estate developer, designer and construction company Rooker sold it for $46.1 million, according to Douglas County public records. The property is near Douglasville 1, the company’s 205,000-square-foot data center at 1700 N. River Road.

The flexible data center solutions provider currently operates 40 data centers across 18 markets in the country, with more than 330 megawatts of built and under-development capacity. In October last year, the company landed an equity investment from Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, that became a co-investor alongside GI Partners.

Atlanta steals the spot for data center absorption

Last year, Atlanta emerged as the new U.S. leader for data center absorption, with 705.8 megawatts, according to a CBRE report. This was the first time any market surpassed Northern Virginia, with Atlanta absorbing 39 times more space when compared to late 2023.

The metro also has an impressive inventory. In 2024, Atlanta’s data center footprint increased by 222 percent to 1,000.4 megawatts while its under-development pipeline included 2,159.3 megawatts during the second half of last year, marking a 195 percent annual jump.

One of the recently delivered data centers in this metro is Edged Atlanta, owned by Endeavour’s Edged Energy. The company completed the first facility of its upcoming Atlanta campus in August. This is the firm’s first North American data center.

US operator Flexential has acquired two data centers it was previously leasing around Atlanta, Georgia.

This week, the company announced it had closed its acquisition of two of its Atlanta-based locations, Douglasville 2 and Norcross.

The company did not share terms or details of the sellers, but the announcement confirms Flexential as the buyer of the Norcross facility after the site’s owner, Mapletree, announced its sale to an unnamed buyer last week.

The purchases give Flexential full ownership of its Atlanta data center footprint, which also includes Douglasville 1, acquired in 2023, and Alpharetta.

The company said this portfolio-wide transition from leasing to ownership allows the company to “make long-term infrastructure investments and deliver consistent service to its customers while offering greater operational agility.”

"Atlanta data center capacity is in great demand, and owning these facilities strengthens our ability to provide long-term reliability and scalability across the Southeast and beyond," said Ryan Mallory, president and COO of Flexential. "Full control of our infrastructure real estate enables us to continue to invest in enhancements, ensure pricing stability, and reinforce our commitment to secure, high-performance solutions for our customers."

Douglasville 2, at 1750 N. River Road, is a 358,000-square-foot (33,260 sqm) facility offering 36MW of capacity. Plans for the facility were first announced in July 2023.

Norcross, located at 2775 Northwoods Parkway, offers 1.8MW across 32,740 sq ft (3,042 sqm). It provides access to more than 80 carriers. Flexential has occupied the site since its Peak 10 days – first announcing plans to launch a facility in Norcross back in 2007.

The facility was one of 14 US data centers Mapletree Industrial Trust acquired from Sila Realty Trust (formerly Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT) in 2017. Carter Validus bought the site in 2012 for $5.3m; Mapletree last week announced it had sold the site for $11.8 million but didn't reveal the buyer.

GI formed Flexential in 2017 after merging Peak 10 and ViaWest. GI acquired Peak 10 back in 2014. Morgan Stanley is also an investor. Today, Flexential operates 40 data centers across 18 US markets and has more than 330MW of built and under-development capacity.
