Here are three of the most difficult challenges that family caregivers may encounter when looking after their elderly parents or loved ones.

Home Care Services Acworth, GA

Poor Sleep

As people age, their sleep patterns can be disrupted, causing them to wake up multiple times during the night. This can be due to a shift in their internal body clock, stress, or worry. If dementia is a factor, you may need to be vigilant, as sundowning and wandering could occur. Caring for your parents or a loved one requires a clear and rested mind, which is why getting enough sleep is essential for both your well-being and your ability to provide the best care. After all, you don't want to get so burnt out and tired that you take a trip to the hospital. Avoid getting burnt out and exhausted, as it could lead to a trip to the hospital.

Lack of Support

Taking care of aging parents can feel overwhelming and like you're shouldering the entire brunt of responsibility. Moreover, thinking that you're the sole caregiver can be stressful and put unneeded strain on other relationships in your life. It's crucial to understand that caregiving is not a one-person task. Trying to handle it alone can lead to burnout, depression, and other serious health issues. It can also negatively impact the quality of care your parents receive.

No Privacy

Living with your parents can affect both your physical and emotional privacy, especially if one or both need significant amounts of attention. This can lead to feelings of fear and disorientation when you're not around. Similarly, it can be challenging for your parents to maintain their own privacy while you're taking care of them.

As of November 2024, the average solar panel system costs $2.64/W including installation in Acworth, GA. For a 5 kW installation, this comes out to about $13,224 before incentives, though prices range from $11,240 to $15,208. After the federal tax credit, the average price drops by 30%.

You'll probably pay even less than what we show here. It doesn't include the federal ITC or Acworth, GA state incentives, which will lower this price by at least a few thousand dollars.

It may seem obvious but larger solar panel systems cost more money. We use cost per watt ($/W) so you can easily compare quotes, controlling for slight variations in system size.

While a 5 kW system will only cost you $13,224 in Acworth, GA, doubling the system size effectively doubles the price, so you'll pay about twice that for a 10 kW system. The higher the price tag, though, the more you'll get back as a credit towards your federal tax bill.

If you can't shell out $13,224 in cash to pay for solar, don't sweat it. You can choose to finance your system with a loan instead. Some companies even offer $0-down loans so you can start saving on day one if your loan payments are less than your current electric bills. Just keep in mind that your long-term savings will be lower with a loan due to interest rates.

The numbers we're showing are averages. The price you'll pay for solar depends on many factors unique to you and your home:

If you're looking for solar companies in GA, here are some popular suggestions:

Solar is a major purchase, but you can get the price tag to come down a bit by being an educated shopper. Taking advantage of incentives and rebates and shopping around for quotes can bring down your cost of solar in Acworth, GA.

As long as your federal tax bill is high enough, you can take advantage of the federal tax credit in Acworth, GA. This incentive allows you to apply 30% of your solar installation and equipment costs toward your federal tax bill. If the amount exceeds your tax bill, you can roll over the remaining credit to the following year. Many states also offer great local incentives and rebates.

Comparing multiple solar quotes can save you money through competition and transparency. Each additional quote you receive for solar will help you find the right solar panel system at the right price.

This is where EnergySage can help. With funding from the Department of Energy’s SunShot Prize, EnergySage opened the country’s first (and now the largest) marketplace for home solar panel installations. We gather custom solar quotes from local installers on your behalf and put them in an easy-to-compare format. When you compare quotes for solar panels on the EnergySage Marketplace, you can expect to see prices up to 20% lower than if you work with a single solar company.

ATLANTA — As the New York Yankees prepare to play the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series beginning on Friday, you may recognize several players who are from the state of Georgia playing on baseball's biggest stage.

There's one player on each of the Yankees and Dodgers from Georgia -- including one from metro Atlanta.

Schmidt was born in Acworth, Georgia, in Cobb County and went to Allatoona High School. He attended the University of South Carolina and was later drafted in the first round of the 2017 MLB Amateur Draft by the Yankees.

Despite getting injured for a good chunk of the middle part of the 2024 season, Schmidt had a breakout year for the Yanks, going 5-5 with a 2.85 ERA and striking out 93 in 85 1/3 innings.

On the other hand, Honeywell, an Augusta native, attended Franklin County High School in Carnesville, Georgia, before going to Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee.

Honeywell was drafted in the second round of the 2014 MLB Amateur Draft by the Tampa Bay Rays. He joined the Dodgers this season after he was designated for assignment by the Pittsburgh Pirates. He signed with LA on July 13 and it clicked almost immediately for Honeywell, who pitched to the tune of a 2.62 ERA over 18 appearances -- mostly out of the bullpen.

And although he's not from the state of Georgia, we'd be remiss if we left out former Atlanta Braves first baseman and California kid Freddie Freeman. The Dodgers star will be looking to capture his second World Series ring after helping lead the Braves to its first World Series title since 1995 back in 2021 -- which would ultimately be his final year in a Braves uniform.

We will see if these Georgia natives can make a difference for their respective teams in this year's World Series.
